"2001: A Space Odyssey" by Arthur C. Clarke

I thoroughly enjoyed both the book and the preface about how the book was conceived. It is a unique approach to write both the novel and the screenplay simultaneously! Interestingly, I found many parallels between 2001 and Contact in the endings. Maybe Sagan was even inspired by Clarke!

This is a comparatively short novel. I expected HAL to be more central, especially due to all the memes about the movie. The ending was certainly something!

Solid sci-fi that is timeless, primarily. I don't think I've found myself thinking that something got hilariously outdated. It's crazy to think it was written in 1968!
