"I, Robot" by Isaac Asimov

I vividly remember getting tired of Asimov's style, putting American suburbia in the most ridiculous sci-fi settings. However, recently, I decided to finally give the robot series a go (after all, it seems like Isaac first used the word "robotics"). "I, Robot" is a collection of short stories about humans cohabiting with robots.

I can't deny that Isaac had a particular style. This time, the book reads like a series of flashbacks with a solid narrative line. I finally get many pop-culture references to the Asimov stories I wasn't aware of. One can see how the author inspired much sci-fi written and directed afterwards.

As another layer of immersion, I've recently been working closely with AI agents, teaching them to do various tasks. It is wild how decades before AI became feasible for this, Isaac had predicted many shortcomings that my job is to overcome.

Overall, I'll keep reading the series and see where it goes. I'm super excited about the finish line (way in the future when I get to it) that ties the robot series into the foundation series.
