"The Caves of Steel" by Isaac Asimov

I'm back at the robot series by Asimov! Turning Sci-Fi into a detective story with multiple people under suspicion was a nice move. Up until the end, I didn't know who the murderer was (but, again, I'm here for Sci-Fi and don't think about the actual murder mystery that much).

At first, I expected the caves of steel to be an outer world's mining places manned (haha) by robots. The real story was, however, way more involved and surprising. I liked how Isaac explained how communal things in the "cities" were essential for human survival and efficiency.

However, the notion that overpopulation of 8 billion people (we're way past that now) would lead to starvation is puzzling in the modern world, maybe because Asimov wrote the novel before we figured out how to create a virtually endless amount of artificial fertilizers.

Overall, I liked the characters and the world. I'll see where Isaac leads me further on the journey!
