"The Art of Thinking Clearly" by Rolf Dobelli
Review by Borodutch
"The Art of Thinking Clearly" is one of the books I'm ashamed I read only this year, even though it was published in 2013. The author outlines almost 100 cognitive biases with examples and explanations — like how I do in my book! I will not go over the list of biases here. Read this summary for the quick gist of it (I just did it, too).
Surprisingly, this is one of my best books on the topic. I've spent 100+ hours on Eliezer Yudkowsky's books on rationality. What did I learn from Eliezer? Bayes rule and fundamental attribution error. "The Art of Thinking Clearly" clocks at just under 8 hours and brings you so much more, even more than the classical "Predictably Irrational" and "Thinking, Fast and Slow!"
It is funny how the closer I get to the 100 books finished in 2023, the more titles I want to put on the best books list. I strongly recommend reading "The Art of Thinking Clearly" as it will drastically improve your life and decision processes.
